Volunteer Opportunities
Saint Mark’s is blessed with a community that possesses many skills, talents and interests. As volunteer lay ministers we are central to the mission of the church and the Saint Mark’s community. Any time a person puts a skill, talent or interest in the service of God’s Reign, they are exercising a spiritual gift. As unique members of the Body of Christ each person has their own spiritual gift mix, and has a particular function to perform. As we seek and discover our gifts, and minister to our brothers and sisters in Christ, we receive God’s grace and love.
Our gifts have the greatest effect if the type of work we are doing is something we are passionate about. The joy and passion you feel for your Ministry will remain with you for a lifetime. The sharing of these gifts enables us, as one body, to minister to ourselves, our community and our world. You are needed, wanted and gifted to give of your time and talent.
How do I get involved?
By contacting ministry coordinators for groups you are interested in. We currently do not have a volunteer coordinator to help connect you with a specific ministry, however we encourage you to research some of the ministries at work and hope you will contact ministry coordinators to ask any questions and learn more about what is involved.
From time to time we post specific requests in our "Volunteer Ministry Classifieds" for groups who are recruiting volunteers right now. We have short term and long term volunteer opportunities for all ages. Or, contact a member of the clergy for help in discovering where your interests and talents lie.
Stewardship Ministry Fair
Our annual parish party, where all the ministries of this great Cathedral display their materials, will be Sunday, September 18, 2011. The Stewardship Ministry Fair will be in Bloedel Hall after all three morning services. Plan to come and share the great refreshments and be inspired to make a gift of time and talent for the coming year!
