The
AIDS CareTeam, trained and supported by Multifaith Works, helps people affected by
HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. CareTeams connect with one CarePartner at a
time, and the hours and commitment are adjustable. Teams meet monthly for support,
communication and information and are led by trained team leaders. Each CareTeam member
may feel called to contribute something different to the process.

Ecology/Spirituality Group
The
Ecology/Spirituality Group brings a focus of care and justice for all of Gods
creation (human and non-human, local to global), within our own lives and the life of our
congregation. As stewards of the earth, we recognize the importance of acting
thoughtfully, responsibly, and justly as we wrestle with environmental issues and search
for ways to cherish and protect our world. The groups projects have brought
Fair Trade, shade grown, organic coffee to Sunday coffee hours, hikes and walks to
experience God in nature, and informational study groups, adult forums and Wednesday night
series.
We are
exploring a greening process at Saint Marks whereby the Cathedral
community might move toward modeling environmental sustainability throughout all
dimensions of congregational life. For our story (with pictures) about the greening
of St. Marks, check out Earth
Ministrys website.
We offer
a variety of ways to participate, including monthly study and reflection meetings. Check out our newsletter by clicking HERE!

Noel House
Womens Shelter
Each night of
the year, up to 25 homeless women are given free temporary shelter -- as well as an
evening snack, breakfast and conversation -- in St. Marks Bloedel Hall. More than
1,000 different women are served annually.
Female
volunteers are needed to help staff the shelter and serve meals from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00
a.m.; or 9:15 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. Help is also needed to co-ordinate group activities for
volunteers, such as potlucks. Volunteers who want to be involved with Noel House but are
currently unable to make a longer term commitment are welcome to team up with a regular
volunteer for either a morning or evening shift to see what serving at the shelter is
like.
Donations of
food and other supplies are also very welcome. Please leave items, marked For Noel
House, at the kitchen in Bloedel Hall. Contact one of the volunteers below for a
complete list of needed items.

Russian Parish
Partnership
The Russian Parish Partnership maintains a relationship with the
Russian Orthodox HolyTrinity Church of Kulich and Pashka in Saint Petersburg,
Russia. The program provides support to elderly members of the church and to the St.
Petersburg Children's Hospice. The RPP works
to strengthen friendships between Saint Marks and our Russian partners. A number of
delegations from Saint Marks have visited Russia as part of the partnership.
Volunteers are needed to help coordinate the annual Harvest
Table fundraiser; host visitors from Russia and provide hospitality; and take part in
quarterly planning meetings for ongoing activities.
