Cathedral Telephone and Email is Down

May 7, 2008

Many of you may have become frustrated yesterday and today attempting to phone or send email to Saint Mark’s Cathedral or the Diocese of Olympia offices.  We regret the present circumstances.

According to Qwest, a major communications cable has been seriously damaged affecting us, the Diocesan offices, and surrounding neighborhood.  Qwest is currently working at repairing the damage but it appears to be somewhat extensive and may not be completely repaired until this weekend.  At this time we are unable to receive phone calls or email.

As of the afternoon of May 6, calls to the Cathedral appear to go unanswered.  In fact no calls are being received at all.  It is also likely that emails sent during this time may be returned to you.  Should this occur, please resend them to us beginning Monday, May 12.

If you have an emergency of a pastoral nature, or some other such emergency, please call Mary Coon, Interim COO, on her cell at (206) 409-1078 or Kathy Wells, Office Manager, at (206) 271-3400 and your message will be passed to the appropriate person.

We appreciate your understanding and hope for a timely resolution.

Ralph Carskadden
Priest-in-Charge
