Kathleen has been
working with Saint Marks Counseling Service since 1989. She is a Washington
State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is a fully approved A.A.M.F.T.
Supervisor for other Therapists.
After completing
her B.A. from St. Marys College, Notre Dame, Ind., Kathleen served for 6 years as a
lay minister in the Roman Catholic Church.
She earned her
M.S., M.F.T in 1986 from Seattle Pacific University in conjunction with Presbyterian
Counseling Services two year, Post Graduate, Marriage and Family Clinical Training
Program.
Kathleens
theoretical background includes family systems therapy, couples and marital therapy,
developmental and object relations schools, gestalt, solution focused therapies,
Somatic Experiencing and EMDR to heal Trauma & PTSD. She interweaves techniques
involving mind, body and spirit.
On-going personal,
spiritual and professional development have been an integral part of Kathleen's life
journey. She has practiced contemplative prayer, mindfulness mediation, yoga,
chi-gong and has participated in in-depth psychoanalysis and body oriented therapies.
Nature, exercise and music, as well as family and friends, enrich her life and
spiritual path.
