Sunday Childcare Age Change

As of September 1, The Childcare Center began welcoming children 3 months through age 5 on Sundays. The change will allows the childcare to accommodate the increasing number of small children in our community.

The best aspect of this change is that we all get to worship with the children and encourage them to participate in liturgy. Toddlers and grade school children need to move around; they want to see what is happening; they wander in the aisles or stand on the pew seat. They draw and read from the little lambs bags, visit the peace shrine and walk the labyrinths in the back of the Nave. This is how they embody their worship. Even if they do not seem to be paying attention, children absorb what is going on and often surprise us with astonishing insights about God realized during their participation in liturgy. All this is a sign of God’s continual renewing of Christ’s ancient and ever-new Body, the Church through the gift of life.

All other childcare events will welcome children 3 months through 13 years of age.
