Sunday Afternoon Concerts
2:00 p.m. in Thomsen Chapel

Concerts on the Marion Camp Oliver Organ (built by Paul Fritts and Co.) in the intimate setting of Thomsen Chapel featuring organ solos and organ with instrumentalists and singers.

J. Melvin Butler, organist; Brian Fairbanks, classical flutist

Mel Butler and Saint Mark’s Music Associate Brian Fairbanks play an all-Bach concert including both accompanied and unaccompanied flute sonatas as well as Bach’s Fantasy and Fugue in G Minor.  Mr. Fairbanks plays a wooden flute built in the latter part of the 19th century.

Clint Kraus, organist; Peregrine Medieval Vocal Ensemble with Bill McJohn, renaissance harp.

Mr. Kraus is Associate Organist of St. James Cathedral in Seattle.  Organ and vocal music based on plainchant with harp interludes featuring Saint Mark’s Artist-in-residence Peregrine Medieval Vocal Ensemble.

Sheila Bristow, organist; Glenn Guhr, baritone

Ms.Bristow is Organist/Choirmaster at Church of the Redeemer, Kenmore, WA.  She will play an eclectic program of solo repertoire, and a Rosenmüller Cantata for baritone solo and organ.

Roger Sherman, organist; J. Melvin Butler, violist

Roger Sherman, Associate Organist of Saint Mark’s, will play music by J. S. Bach, including the Eight Little Preludes and Fugues.  Violist Mel Butler will join Mr. Sherman for a Bach gamba sonata.

Thomas Foster, organist; Linda Tsatsanis, soprano

Organist Thomas Foster, Organist/Choirmaster Emeritus of All Saints Episcopal Church, Beverly Hills, CA, will be joined by soprano Linda Tsatsanis in a program of music by Albinoni, Greene, Purcell, Mozart, and Mendelssohn.

Admission to the Organ Plus concerts is by suggested donation of $10.
