Preparing the Way: Parish Profile
This page was last updated on January 4, 2012.
"Situated on a prominent bluff high above Lake Union, Saint Mark’s Cathedral is Seattle’s most visible symbol of faith. Saint Mark’s is the cathedral church for the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia, which includes all of Western Washington. The call of a new Dean—who will be the seventh in the 90 years of Saint Mark’s history—clearly marks an important threshold. We seek a Dean with a vision for urban ministry, a heart for pastoral care, and a sense of the worldwide church unfolding in this 21st century. If what we are seeking resonates with your calling to ministry, and if your experience as a priest has honed your skills to work with a complex and passionate congregation, we invite and encourage you to consider Saint Mark’s Cathedral."

Applications and Nominations
If you feel you are called to apply to be our next Dean, or if you know someone you feel we should consider, the process is fairly simple:
- Make sure your/their Office of Transition Ministry profile is current.
- Contact Canon to the Ordinary the Rev. Joan Anthony at the Diocese of Olympia (janthony@ecww.org or 206.325.4200, ext. 2040.) to find out what information is needed.
The deadline to receive applications and nominations is January 1, 2012. No new names will be accepted after this date.
