The Church Assessment Tool: a CAT scan
Report on the Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral Church Assessment Tool: Herding CATs.
Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in the Church Assessment Tool survey in March.
On Sunday, April 25, Russ Crabtree of Holy Cow Consulting presented a report and analysis to the Vestry and congregation. The aim of the report was to provide a clearer picture of who we are as a church and what directions might be important for our future.
The meeting was presented using GoToMeeting.com, with Russ in Ireland, over 80 people in Bloedel, and a few in remote locations watching via the internet. Due to technical difficulties, we did not successfully record the session.
However, we are able to provide a number of downloadable documents about the survey and the compilation of the data.
- Vital Signs: This is the primary report from Holy Cow Consulting. (29 pages)
- Summary Report: This report gives an explanation of the data presented in Vital Signs
- Rector-centric Church: This document will tell you more about what it means to be 'rector-centric' (as opposed to 'rector-driven).
- Descriptive Map Typology Guide: On page 13 of Vital Signs, Saint Mark's is identified as "progressive-adaptable" church. This document explains more about what that means, as well as what characterizes the other quadrants.
- Supplemental Questions: This short document (3 pages) gives general, statistical data about the group that responded to the survey.
